Get a look behind the curtains of what life was like for Roy William’s before, during, and after football. No matter what, you must seize the opportunities to become your best, it will take hard work, and there will be moments of struggle. It’s time to discover that even when it seems impossible, you can still be Unmovable.
Roy Williams struggled early on in school with an unknown form of dyslexia which left him feeling cornered and confused when the topic of reading took center stage. To make matters worse, his teachers had no idea either. Not being able to read could have kept him from succeeding and left him trapped in the lower middle income neighborhood he grew up in. But the unquenchable desire to succeed no matter the odds took over, just as it did as a six year old kid teaching himself to tackle taking on a varsity lineman in pickup games in his neighborhood.
Success didn’t come the first time, or the second, third, or fourth, but eventually he learned that he had to break him down to take him down. Just like his varsity opponent, life ran him over in more ways than one. But football became his lifeline. It would take him to the University of Oklahoma, a National Championship and eventually becoming the 8th overall pick in the 2002 NFL draft on America’s Team (the Dallas Cowboys). But not even the glory of the NFL could protect him from his greatest battle.
